About Ikano Bostad

Ikano Bostad develops residential areas and housing for people in all phases of life. We offer square smart, functional, durable and affordable condominiums, single-family homes, rental apartments and nursing homes in places where Sweden is growing. For our customers to feel safe and thrive in our residential areas, we feel a great responsibility for the whole when we develop, build, owns and manages housing. Ikano Bostad has 1,380 condominiums, rental apartments and detached houses in production and manages 5,760 tenancies and four nursing homes.

Ikano Bostad was founded in 2005 and is part of the Ikano group, an international group of companies with activities in housing, banking, insurance, production and retail. Our roots exist in Småland, Sweden, where we were established by IKEA's founders. The Ikano group was originally part of IKEA but became a separate group of companies in 1988.

Elinegårds Mobilitetshuset

At the edge of Limhamn's Kalkbrott area in Malmö, the new district Elinegård is beginning to take shape. Approximately 1,000 homes, the new Elinelund school and a preschool are already in place. By the fall of 2021, construction will start on 800 homes spread over ten blocks. When everything is ready, Elinegård will be a green area with a strong focus on the environment and climate, good opportunities for community and meetings in everyday life and where it will be easy to opt out of the car.

In the middle of the area, a mobility building will be built which will be a gathering point for the entire district. The ground floor will consist of a transparent block with high ceilings and a lot of vegetation. Here, the majority of the area's parking spaces will be located, as well as a car and bicycle pool that will be accessible to everyone. In addition, there will be common areas for, for example, co-working, homework, carpentry and painting workshop, party room and recycling room. The construction of the mobility building is planned for 2022 and the occupancy is estimated for 2023.

Ikano Bostad has high sustainability ambitions for this and all of its other developments. To help minimize the climate impact of its buildings, Ikano Bostad is seeking the following:

  • building-integrated PV solutions
  • low-carbon façade materials
  • low-carbon roof materials and solutions.
